RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB vs RTX 5070 12 GB: memory or speed?
The larger memory number does not make the 5060 Ti the faster gaming card. The useful question is whether your workload needs more than 12 GB, and whether the 5070โs speed advantage is worth its delivered Canadian price.
| Criterion | RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB | RTX 5070 |
|---|---|---|
| Memory | 16 GB GDDR7 | 12 GB GDDR7 |
| Reference GPU power | 180 W | 250 W |

A price ceiling you can calculate
In that single Wukong result, 72 รท 57 = 1.263. Equal cost per average frame would allow the 5070 to cost about 26% more. At an illustrative C$600 for the 5060 Ti, the equivalent is about C$758 for the 5070. These are hypothetical prices and a one-game calculation, not current offers or an average across games. Use the same test settings in the linked review; do not mix this row with frame-generation marketing figures.
When 16 GB wins a different argument
If a local model or creation project genuinely exceeds the smaller cardโs memory, the 5060 Ti can keep work on the GPU that would otherwise spill to system memory. That is a capacity decision. If the job already fits in 12 GB, extra unused memory is not proof of faster execution. Record the exact project, precision and memory peak before accepting a gaming-performance trade-off.
Our buying decision
For gaming, compare the 5070โs price premium with benchmarks of your games, resolution and ray-tracing mode. For a memory-constrained local workflow, test the 16 GB configuration first. In either case add tax, shipping and any required PSU change to the offer; compare the same seller type and return conditions. Neither choice receives an unconditional โfuture-proofโ label.
