Starfield

Starfield: PC requirements and GPU selection

Starfield's official CPU floor is substantial and its requirements omit exact FPS targets, making a balanced current system more defensible than a GPU-only promise.

BUYING INTERPRETATION

Before spending

Set aside the SSD and RAM budget first. Then look for a test of the candidate card in a busy area with a CPU comparable to yours. A good average alone does not settle slowdown concerns.

Starfield: a modest generational upgrade, with lows still below 60

GamersNexus, April 2025 · 1440p · Ultra. Ryzen 7 9800X3D at 5.4 GHz, DDR5-6000, four passes. Read from the original chart.

GPUAverage FPS1% low FPS
RTX 4060 Ti FE57.545.7
RTX 5060 Ti 16GB65.249.9

Moving from the 4060 Ti to the 5060 Ti adds about 13% to the average here, but does not deliver a 60 FPS 1% low. That is a weak reason to replace an otherwise satisfactory card solely for this game. Investigate your own busy-city frame times before committing the entire upgrade budget to the GPU.

Historical external evidence, not a GPUStores test or a forecast for your PC. Driver and game versions are not specified in this chart; a 1% low is not a guaranteed minimum.
