HP HyperX
OMEN 15-gb0010ca

Tracked reference · D61VKUA#ABL

A coherent 1080p/1200p gaming laptop in a manageable 15.3-inch format. The RTX 5060 fits the 165 Hz display well; the single 16 GB memory module is the compromise I would plan to address after checking HP's warranty terms.

What I actually think

A personal reading of the exact configuration and its value—without turning a specification sheet into a fake hands-on test.

What I take away from this OMEN 15 is a coherent configuration for high-refresh 1080p or 1200p gaming. The eight-core Ryzen 7 should not be the weak link, and the RTX 5060 matches the 165 Hz display sensibly as long as heavier games are tuned instead of forcing every setting to maximum.

The compromise that bothers me most is the memory: 16 GB on a single module. At this price I would have preferred 32 GB, or at least two modules from the start. I would plan for a compatible second module, but only after confirming HP's service procedure and warranty terms.

The display looks adequate for indoor gaming, but 300 nits and 62.5% sRGB do not make it a convincing colour-work screen. At 2.42 kg, plus its power adapter, this is also a transportable gaming machine rather than a genuinely light laptop.

My verdict: I would consider it when its price is clearly below a comparable RTX 5070 laptop and when Canadian HP support carries real value for the buyer. Near $2,700 CAD, I would compare before ordering. The configuration is sound, but it does not automatically justify that premium.

MY TAKE, IN PLAIN ENGLISH

What I like, what gives me pause and who I would recommend it to

What I like

  • Exact current Canadian HP product with RTX 5060
  • Useful 1 TB storage, Wi-Fi 7 and broad wired ports

What gives me pause

  • Single 16 GB memory module may reduce initial memory bandwidth
  • The 300-nit 62.5% sRGB panel is not a colour-critical creator display
  • At 2.42 kg it is transportable rather than truly light

Who I would recommend it to

A balanced current gaming laptop when exact Canadian support, 1 TB storage and RTX 5060 matter. Add a matched memory module only after checking HP’s service guidance.

My final check: I would also confirm the displays, peripherals, warranty and upgrade options required for your use.
